It’s tempting to lay all the blame on streaming. But the movie industry’s pivot from theaters to digital distribution is just another symptom of the same underlying disease.
If you look back at Hollywood’s golden age, one fact jumps out: Tinseltown was built by writers, producers, directors, and entrepreneurs competing for audiences’ money and attention.
Absent from that winning equation were bean counters and Harvard MBAs.
