Rudyard Kipling and the Haunted Wood

It’s high time we had another tale of high strangeness. And this time, we’ve got an extra strange one, courtesy of theup-and-coming horror channel Into the Fog With Peter Laws.

After chancing upon Peter’s chillingly narrated tales of the paranormal some months ago, I realized that he and I were on the same page when it came to the weird and the mysterious. And that’s why I chose his channel as an ad partner for my Nethereal 10th Anniversary campaign.

On this special occasion, Peter brings us a startling true tale of historic true crime, haunting horror, and classic literature. And this real ghost story is distingushed from dime-a-dozen creepypastas and FoaF campfire yarns by the direct invovlement of legendary author Rudyard Kipling.

Watch and listen as Peter regales us with the eerie tale of Rudyard Kipling and the Haunted Wood:

There youi have the grisly puzzle laid out for you, dear reader. Was it a case of wrongly punished death by misadventure? Betrayal and murder? Or a tangled web of deception we’ll never unravel this side of glory?

You decide!

You do have to admit, though, that these bizarre and tragic events would make the ideal backstory for a Call of Cthulhu campaign.

I’d like to take this chance to congratulate Peter on the growth of his excellent channel. Into the Fog offers a pitch-perfect blend of macabre subject matter and virtuoso storytelling. And I can’t recommend following it enough.

Nor can I thank Peter enough for going above and beyond to lend his considerable talents to the twin causes of newpub and neopatronage. Thanks in no small measure to him, the historic Kickstarter campaign for the 10th anniversary edition of my first novel Nethereal is less than $500 from funding as of this writing.

Ten years ago, we launched more than just a book—we sparked a movement.

Now let’s take it to the next level. Back the Nethereal 10th Anniversary Edition on Kickstarter now!
